Outside Lands is still making me super angsty. You think I would be happy with going to Coachella for the 4th time, but no I have to act like a spoiled brat. I can't help that the only NorCal performances of Dead Weather and Bat For Lashes are there. Sad sad sad.
BUT
This weekend in Santa Cruz was amazing. It's currently pretty damn warm here in San Jose, but in Santa Cruz it was overcast grey without being cold, and misting for most of the time. It was like being enveloped in a cloud for the last couple days and I loved it.
The first night we were there Rachel showed me the gazebo and we watched the moon rise as it turned from almost a blood red to that lovely orange-yellow color. It had been way too long since I had seen and smelt the ocean and I am very grateful for it.
The next day it that water was too cold to swim, but we went to the tide pools. There were pretty shells, a hermit crab.and I touched a sea anemone. There was also a crab the size of my hand and I was hit by a particularly large wave as I was taking his picture with Rachel's camera.
A couple hours later we went swimming in the pool (yay heated) and then went into the hot tub after wards. Ugh, I wish I could go swimming right now.
That night we considered going to the boardwalk, but instead Rachel and I watched Pretty Woman and painted our nails before eating huge slices of angel food cake covered in whipped cream and sliced strawberries with a bit of sugar. It was very good and I have always loved that movie. I have a weakness for Julia Roberts :D
Obviously Rachel and I need to become hookers in Hollywood and wait for an attractive and ridiculously wealthy man to come sweep us off our feet.
The next day we went down to the pond and fed the two female swans they have living there. We decided they are a glorious lesbian couple that go by the names Swaney 1 and Swaney 2. They seemed to enjoy the dried french bread from the night before. It was a bit more difficult to feed the ducks since they seemed very intimidated by the Swaneys, but I managed to get them a few pieces while Rachel distracted the swans.
The drive back was calm and sweet. I love the Santa Cruz mountains so much. The trees are so beautiful.
I need to go back there soon >.<
I plan on posting photos once Rachel uploads them!
